"Euroabstracts" - the Commission's bimonthly review of Community R&D publications - will be relaunched in April 1998 with a new look. One of the range of publications funded by the INNOVATION programme, "Euroabstracts" has been published on a regular basis for over 30 years, making it one of the longest established of the European Commission's publications. Initially produced as a bibliographic journal of EU research literature, it has evolved over time, always remaining a publications-based information product. Two years ago, a full-colour magazine was introduced as a complement to the traditional abstract section. With the relaunch of the journal in April 1998, the magazine part will be redesigned with a new concept, structure and layout. This will henceforward be made available free of charge to interested parties. The abstract section, containing abstracts downloaded from the CORDIS RTD-Publications database, will, on the other hand, be discontinued. The information contained in this section can be easily accessed in electronic form via the CORDIS RTD-Publications database now available on the World Wide Web. This provides not only the abstracts themselves but links to relevant Community programmes and projects. The first issue of "Euroabstracts" in its new format will include a survey of UK RTD policy and articles about recent books, magazines, CD-ROMs and Websites in the following domains: energy, environment and sustainable development, information and communication technologies, innovation, life sciences and technologies and transport and production.
