Three separate Conclusions of the Council and the Ministers for Health of the Member States, meeting within the Council on 15 May 1992, include the following: - On toxicology for health protection: After examination of the Commission communication on the Community programme of action in the field of toxicology for health protection, the Council takes note of the results achieved, calls on the Commission to disseminate these results widely and to complete work in progress, and to identify, if appropriate, action regarding toxicology which might be implemented in the context of future Community health policies. - On nutrition and health: Referring to their resolution of 3 December 1990 concerning an action programme on nutrition and health, to include a European Nutrition Year (OJ No C 329 of 31.12.1990) the Council reaffirm the importance of such action and note that the Commission is in the process of conducting a general examination of health issues and that it intends to take the necessary initiatives as soon as this is completed. - On hereditary illnesses: Considering the importance of hereditary and genetic illnesses, the Council believe it is important to enhance the role of epidemiological research on genetic illnesses in the framework of Community and international research programmes in the field of biomedicine and health.
