KESDA'98 (Knowledge Extraction from Statistical Data) will be held in Luxembourg on 27 and 28 April 1998. This conference, to be organized by EUROSTAT, the Statistical Office of the European Communities, will have the main objective of promoting new methods in data mining and symbolic data analysis.

The main topics to be covered at the conference will include:

- Project presentation including Symbolic Official Data Analysis System (SODAS) and Knowledge Extraction for Statistical Offices (KESO);
- Knowledge extraction;
- Data mining;
- Symbolic clustering;
- Metrics;
- Data from official statistics;
- Visualization and statistical data;
- Symbolic factorial analysis.
