The SPICE User Group is pleased to announce the fourth International SPICE Conference, to be held at the Estoril Congress Centre, Lisbon, Portugal from 27th to 29th April, 2004. This Conference follows on the success of previous SPICE conferences, and builds upon the achievements of the International SPICE Symposia held on a regular basis since 1994. Critical Software SA, Portugal is the local organizer of the conference on behalf of the SPICE User Group.
Papers related to the topics of Software Process Improvement and Capability dEtermination, based upon the use of ISO/IEC 15504, are invited for the conference.
Topics of interest include but are not limited to:,- Case study and experience reports on the use of ISO/IEC 15504 for process improvement and/or capability determination;,- Methods, models and tools to support software process assessment;,- Emerging Process Reference Models and Process Assessment Models;,- Benchmarking based upon capability assessment as a foundation for process improvement;,- Relationships and comparisons between different approaches to software process assessment;,- Theoretical considerations on the basis of the technique of process assessment;,- Use of ISO/IEC 15504 process assessment outside of the domain of software;,- ISO/IEC 15504 certification;,- Sector based initiatives e.g. in automotive, space and healthcare.
SUBMISSIONS:
Contributions will be accepted in following formats:,- Full papers,- Extended Abstracts for Industrial Experience presentations Each contribution should contain the following information:,- Title of paper (or extended abstract),- Name(s) of author(s),- Affiliation, Address,- E-mail, telephone and fax numbers
Paper contributions shall be submitted in the format specified on the conference web site. Papers shall not exceed 4000 words in length and shall include a 150-200 word abstract. Industrial experience presentations shall submit an abstract (up to 500 words) outlining the contents of the presentation.
Papers and extended abstracts shall be submitted electronically to the program chair by e-mail: papers@spice2004.com, as MS Word file. The accompanying e-mail shall contain the title of the paper, full names, affiliations, postal and e-mail addresses of all authors, fax and telephone numbers.
All papers submitted will be reviewed by members of the Programme Committee, and those judged best to meet the aims of the Conference will be selected for presentation.
TUTORIALS:
Tutorials will be held on the 27th April 2004 on the day preceding the conference. Please send proposals for half and/or whole day tutorials to the tutorials chair by e-mail: tutorials@spice2004.com before end November 2003.
