The IANIS Workshop - Supporting and Financing Technology Companies

The IANIS Workshop, "Supporting and Financing Technology Companies", will be celebrated at the Trade Fair Institution, Badajoz (IFEBA) on the 25th and 26th March.

This workshop has been organised by Vivernet, an initiative from the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology of Extremadura, in colaboration with Fundecyt, ERISA and IANIS. The main objectives of this congress are to bring together different agents within the EU, dedicated to the creation of technology based companies, to share knowledge, to discuss ideas and to exchange experiences within this field.
Vivernet, 'Business Centres in the Knowleged Era', is a measure developed within the Strategic Plan for development of the Society of Information in Extremadura, by the autonomous government in this South West region of Spain. The aim of this measure is to promote entrepreneurs from Extremadura's business projects related to the Knowledge Economy, all of whom have great creative skills and talent, but who lack the resources to develop their activities.
With this pledge, together with ERISA and IANIS, this event will unfold thus promoting from Extremadura the colaboration and exchange of experiences and knowledge with the rest of Europe.
IANIS Workshop official languages are Spanish and English.
,Objectives
Over the past decade or so, Europe has seen the development of policies and programmes supporting the creation of technology enterprises. The fast growth and potential of these kinds of businesses, that generate wealth and resources relative to low investment in infrastructure, has placed them very high on the political agenda, fostering the launch of innumerable programmes aimed at supporting and financing new ideas related to Information and Communication Technologies.
The main aim of this event is to disseminate and analyse good practices in supporting and financing technology companies at European, national and regional levels. The intention is also to show the way forward, to define how to better orientate public funds devoted to support of technology companies, taking into account the opinion of the European Commission and the European Investment Bank.
Finally, the workshop aims to identify the real needs of these enterprises facing the challenges of achieving growth and consolidation. By identifying their needs, the workshop aims to define more precisely how best to support the growth and consolidation of this sector.
