Workshop on "Why and how to use a subsidiary company to facilitate technology transfer"
- should it be part of the University or a separate (perhaps 100% owned) company?
- what should the financial arrangement (budgeting, revenue sharing) arrangements be with the university and inventors?
- what are the relative advantages of reporting to (and being governed by) a Board as opposed to the university hierarchy?
There is no universal solution - so much depends on the university and the stage of development of the TTO. Moreover, you may have little say in the final decision!
Nevertheless, it is useful to know the pros and cons of the various options and to learn from the experiences (good and bad) of those who have experienced different structures first hand. The workshop will also be small enough for individuals to discuss and seek feedback on individual cases.
The workshop will last one day from 10 AM till 4 PM, costs 75 Euro per member (125 Euro non-members; both excl 19 %VAT) and has room for ± 30 people (on a first come first serve base).
