Giunti Interactive Labs, Europe's leading new media and learning content management technology provider and licensor of World's leading LCMS technology, learn eXact, has been invited to Tokyo to introduce and tackle the floor with a European perspective introducing its R&D and Technology achievements in the field of Mobile and Location Based Content Management Services.

16 May 2005 - 17 May 2005

The Ubiquitous Network Society, i.e. making it possible to anyone to connect anytime, anywhere and by any device to his/her working, learning and living digital environments, is now rapidly turning from just more than a concept to a global challenge where all World Economies are planning to reposition their contents and services under the common understanding that those who master the possibilities of such new media before others have major chances to be the long run runners in the emerging markets of the Knowledge Society.
One of the world's first summits on the information and communication infrastructure (http://www.wsis-japan.jp/index.html(opens in new window)) will take place in Tokyo and provide flexible and affordable access to the ubiquitous network society for everyone. The event will be organized by the Japanese Government, International Telecommunications Union (ITU) and the United Nations University on 16 and 17 May 2005.
The Workshop, organised under the Geneva Phase of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), embodies the Declaration of Principles and the Plan of Action towards the Ubiquitous Network Society which targets equal opportunities for all World People and Regions to benefit from the opportunities created by newly evolving scenario favoured by Mobile and Nomadic access to Internet for studying, working and self development.
According to Hans van Ginkel, Rector of the United Nations University, co-chairing the event: "From the UNU's perspective, we are keen to understand whether the realization of a ubiquitous network society could contribute to the sharing of knowledge that we need in order to collectively solve problems of pressing global concern whether they be environmental, poverty, health or security. It is an important challenge for all of us, but in particular for the educational sector."

According to Fabrizio Cardinali, Giunti Labs' CEO and invited speaker: "With the rising of ubiquitous and broadband internet a new form of publishing is emerging: the glamorous and costly top down approach of the mass media times is now being complemented by grass root publishing, with Blogs and Ipod Casting already demonstrating the value of self community publishing for edutainment, learning and knowledge management.,This is a huge opportunity to reduce the Digital Divide , mainly originated by Mass Market economies."
The professional publishing market is now interested to see how it can leverage such new media and technologies, and those players who will do it first might get a very fast repositioning, vice versa not enabled by today mass markets.,Conferences and events like this one are very important to detect emerging patterns and see where the publishing world is going and how new generation content management may help...and we are very happy to have been selected to bring a European content management and publisher perspective to the debate .."
Giunti Labs' presentation will be held on 16 May, starting from 14.30
