Workshop on EGNOS performance and applications

An international, annual conference completely devoted to the satellite based augmentation system EGNOS will take place in Gdynia, Poland, on 27-28 October 2005.

The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) is a first European step into satellite navigation. It is a joint initiative of the European Space Agency, the European Commission and Eurocontrol - the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation. EGNOS is a precursor of Galileo, the global satellite navigation system currently under development in Europe. The European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service has now entered in its Initial Operations Phase, during which, after successful negotiations with the European Space Agency, the European Satellite Services Provider will become responsible for providing the EGNOS signal. ESSP will optimise EGNOS operations preparing Open Service to be available in early 2006.

"Workshop on EGNOS performance and applications" which will be held in Gdynia, Poland, on 27-28 October 2005.
The EGNOS Workshop is an international, annual conference completely devoted to the satellite based augmentation system EGNOS. The aim of the seminar is to bring together the European EGNOS community, review the present situation and status of the system, exchange information and experiences connected with the use of the system and foster international cooperation in the development of EGNOS applications.
The EGNOS Workshop is organized by: European Space Agency, Polish Galileo Information Point at the Space Research Centre of the Polish Academy of Sciences and Institute of Navigation and Hydrography of the Naval University of Gdynia.
