Smart structures and materials
The main aim of this conference is to stimulate the development of multi-disciplinary applications of smart technologies within the EU. The themes of the conference will be relevant to scientific disciplines, such as engineering, technology, materials science, mathematics, chemists and medical physics.
The conference will present the latest innovations and developments in the field, and will include a demonstrator workshop where working prototypes will be demonstrated by experts. Discussions will also be held on hardware, software, actuators, materials, control systems and methodologies for smart technologies.
The scope of the conference will include the following:

- Biomimetics and biological models and materials;
- Smart sensors and systems;
- Shape memory alloys and adaptive materials;
