The Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum will host a Conference on Strategic Policy Intelligence for Regional Decision-Making. The conference is organised on 30 March 2006 in Stuttgart by Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum (SEZ) in collaboration with the Ministries of Economic Affairs, Science, Research, and the Arts, as well as State of Baden-Württemberg.
The conference is a key event of the RegStrat project co-funded by the European Commission’s Regions of Knowledge 2 Programme and co-ordinated by SEZ. This event brings together policy researchers and practitioners from different fields of strategic policy intelligence (SPI - foresight, technology assessment and road-mapping, evaluation, benchmarking etc.) with policy-makers from Europe’s regions. The participants will examine and discuss the state of the art of related policy research and methodology, as well as the practical use of SPI tools in regional policy-making.
Confirmed keynote speakers include Dr Dimitri Corpakis (DG Research), Prof Luke Georghiou (PREST, University of Manchester), Prof Philippe Laredo (CNRS, Paris), Prof Philippe Destatte (Destree Institute, Namur), Dr Fabiana Scapolo (DG JRC, IPTS Seville) and other renowned researchers and practitioners on strategic policy intelligence, regional foresight and development.
To reinforce mutual learning, the conference participants are asked to fill in a questionnaire regarding their experiences in the application of strategic policy intelligence tools.
