ECCOMAS'98 on computational fluid dynamics

The European Community on Computational Methods in Applied Sciences (ECCOMAS) will hold its fourth conference on computational fluid dynamics in Athens, Greece, from 7 to 11 September 1998. The conference will be supported by the European Commission under the Industrial Materials and Technologies research programme (BRITE-EURAM). Particular focus will be given to European research policy and a number of the sessions have been organised at the initiative of the European Commission.

The conference will present and discuss the state-of-the-art in scientific computing applied to engineering sciences. The objective is to stimulate technological innovation by defining new directions for the development of advanced technologies, promote scientific and technical collaboration and integration between European industry, research bodies and universities and input into the formulation of objectives of the various RTD programmes.

The conference will present the themes and results of the BRITE-EURAM programme as well as the upcoming Fifth RTD Framework Programme. It will comprise invited lectures, special technological sessions, mini-symposia and presentations, as well as an exhibition of hardware material, scientific software and books.
