The third international conference on membrane reactors will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark, from 9 to 12 September 1998. The conference will be organised by the Danish Society of Chemical Engineers and will be supported within the framework of the EU's research programme in the field of Industrial and Materials Technologies (BRITE-EURAM).

The issue of catalysis in membrane reactors, which have been identified as an important form for reactive separation, enabling certain limitations to be overcome such as thermodynamic equilibrium or flammability limits, will provide the focus for the conference. It will consist of sessions dealing with topics such as hydrogen production, dehydrogenation, selective oxidation and engineering aspects. In addition, poster sessions will be presented by young researchers and a round table discussion will deal with the different perspectives of membrane catalysis.
