Genomics and Cancer - Integrating Genomics with Clinical Research and Therapy

A conference on Genomics and Cancer is organized by the department of Molecular Genome Analysis at the DKFZ in conjunction with the German National Genome Research Network - NGFN in Heidelberg, Germany on 13-16 September 2006.

13 September 2006 - 16 September 2006
Germany
The complex interplay between intra- and intercellular biological processes is increasingly recognised as a key component in the development of cancer: Tumor progression is taking place in networks rather than in single genetic changes, requiring experts from various disciplines to join forces in order to efficiently challenge and fight cancer.

This conference aims to build bridges between high-throughput biomedical research, computational biology and patient treatment, and integrates knowledge and visions to build models for future translational cancer research.

The conference will bring together high-ranking invited speakers on relevant topics of cancer research with special focus on Early Detection and Prevention, Genomics and Proteomics, Model Organisms, Tumor Stem Cells and Micrometastases, Signalling and Metabolic Pathways, Systems Biology of Cancer, as well as Pharmacogenomics and Novel Therapies. The event will take place at the German Cancer Research Center – DKFZ, Heidelberg, Germany.
