Information systems: current issues and future changes
The positive and negative impacts of information technologies have been the subject of much debate in recent years. This has been in relation to areas such as business values, organisational and group effects as well as effects on an individual level. However practical or theoretical conceptual frameworks aimed at integrating the diverse aspects of change brought about by information technologies are rare. The conference aims, therefore, to combine theoretical thinking with the exploration of the effects of information systems and present practical managerial guidelines.
Discussions during the conference will focus on the following:
- Tutorials on software quality and improvement;
- Software engineering and software quality;
- Knowledge management - intra-organisational issues;
- Theory as a vehicle for exploration;
- Actors and networks in systems development;
- Collaboration technology and workflow;
- Standardising information systems: methods and models.
