A series of seminars on data storage and computer fraud will be held in the United Kingdom in October 1998. The first will be held in Bracknell on 5 October 1998, the second in Manchester on 8 October 1998, and the third in Edinburgh on 14 October 1998. The seminars will be organised by Hewlett Packard and Vogon International.

The seminars are targeted at managers within the information technology industry and government enforcement departments. The aim is to bring participants up-to-date on the latest developments in storage technology, how to avoid data-loss and fraud, and how to spot the warning signs. In addition, information on how to investigate computers for evidence of crime, computer evidence in court, and practical case studies will also be delivered during the seminar.

The seminars will address the following topics:

- Computer data - who's in control?
- Information storage technology: protect your future by standardisation;
- Recovering data;
- Minimising exposure to computer crime and misuse;
- Identifying computer fraud, searching for the evidence and presenting cases in court.
