Open call for proposals under ACCORD (Advanced Components Cooperation for Optoelectronics Research and Development) Project

ACCORD is the Advanced Components Cooperation for Optoelectronics Research and Development - an experimental program funded under the Sixth Framework Programme of the European Union (IST-2005-2.5.1 Photonic Components).

- 13 April 2007
Austria
Beginning in September 2006 and running for 3 years, ACCORD’s purpose is to:

1) Purchase at marginal cost pre-competitive photonic devices from innovative companies and put them in the hands of European researchers and students, at no net cost to the university or to the company that furnished the devices and

2) Facilitate transfer of device evaluation results to potential end-users, assisting companies to access new markets and new applications.

ACCORD project aims at bringing together suppliers of photonic components, researchers and end-users. It solicitates pre-competitive prototypes from suppliers and puts them at the disposal of researchers at no costs.

Available prototypes are published on the project's website (http://www.ist-accord.org/(opens in new window)) and researchers can respond to regular calls for proposals to apply for them.

Currently a call is open with a deadline on 13 April 2007.
