Enviro-Connect'99, a two-day event for facilitating partnerships between SMEs specialising in environmental information technologies, will be held in Singapore, on 9 and 10 March 1999. The event will be organised by the Regional Institute of Environmental Technology and supported by the European Commission.
The event will be hosted by a number of Asian companies seeking to identify and develop business partnerships with visiting European counterparts. Environmental information technology, which facilitates the handling of complex environmental legislation, standards, monitoring requirements and customer expectations, will be the particular focus of the event. This technology consists of hi-tech equipment, systems and services such as environmental sensors, measuring devices, instrumentation, data processing hardware and software, as well as those which help to document environmental information, increase efficiency in environmental operations and facilitate environmental decision making.
Businesses interested in participating in the event will have the opportunity to meet their Asian counterparts through a series of pre-arranged meetings which will be based on information submitted prior to the event. This will provide participants with the opportunity to discuss issues such as forming new partnerships for research and development initiatives, as well as new market and export opportunities.
