European Innovation Dialogue Founders Meeting

The European Innovation Dialogue (EID) will be established as a framework constituting an innovation ecosystem at EU level, thereby providing the added value coming from a coherent Community-wide approach on innovation.

25 June 2007
Belgium
The European Innovation Dialogue is designed to work at the interface of the different types of expertise and innovation stakeholders from public and private sectors, between regions and among institutions at the various levels, European, national and local. Thus the EID will represent the voice of the innovation community in Europe and act as the counterpart of the European Commission in all questions related to innovation.

Major areas of activities are focusing on the environment in which innovators work including legal and economic aspects as well as tools and measures that help speeding up innovation at the regional/local level.
Still before the summer break, a group of EID representatives will engage in a series of high-level meetings with the most relevat Directorate's General of the Commission as one dimension of the 'Dialogue' bridging the gap between Lisbon policy objectives and innovation practitioners' daily concerns. Together with major innovation stakeholders the EID will organise the "European Innovation Summit" as a major milestone of its annual programme.
