ELECTROSOFT'99, the fourth international conference on software for electrical engineering and design, will be held in Seville, Spain, from 17 to 19 May 1999. The conference will bring together engineers concerned with the methodology and the techniques for formulating and building software for engineering applications. The particular focus of the conference will be on user-orientation and methods for fitting software to engineering applications.

Issues related to the design, construction, evaluation and use of software systems in all those areas of electrical engineering that deal with electrophysical phenomena described by continuous-valued variables, such as circuits and semi-conductor devices, will be discussed during the conference. Particular emphasis will be placed on the structure and use of large software systems, whose internal complexity is such that the user normally requires support and maintenance by the software maker.

Presentations during the conference will be delivered under the following headings:

- Interfaces;
- Package design;
- Packages;
- Software engineering;
- Numerical;
- Symbolic and parallel computation;
- Simulation.
