ISORC'99, the second international conference on object oriented real-time distributed computing (ORC), will be held in Saint-Malo, France, from 2 to 5 May 1999. The conference will be organised by the Institute for Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). It will address how to extend the well established object-oriented computing technology into the technologies applicable to real-time applications.

Topics to be addressed during the conference will include, but are not limited to, the following:

- New ORC paradigms;
- Object models and requirements engineering;
- Languages and tools for structuring real-time objects;
- Operating systems support for ORC and real-time object request brokers;
- System/software engineering methodology;
- Multimedia processing and communication applications;
- Application areas such as embedded systems, business and industrial applications.
