Marie Curie Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways - national information event, Dublin

A national information event on the Marie Curie “Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways” (IAPP) scheme will be held in the Winter Hall at the Royal College of Physicians in Dublin on Monday, 10 December 2007, from 11:00 - 13:00.

The event is organized by the Marie Curie Office of the Irish Universities Association (IUA). The programme includes a presentation of the IAPP scheme (objectives, eligibility and evaluation criteria, funding details) as well as a number of short presentations by successful contractors in the Marie Curie “Transfer of Knowledge – Industry-Academia Partnerships” scheme from FP6 (predecessor of the IAPP scheme in FP7). Ample time will be devoted to a Q&A session covering all aspects of the new IAPP scheme.

At the occasion of the event, the IUA will also launch its new brochure “Research Success in Ireland – A Review of the European Marie Curie Programme” with success stories from Irish Marie Curie projects under the previous Framework Programme.

"This [Industry-Academia Partnerships and Pathways] action seeks to open and foster dynamic pathways between public research organisations and private commercial enterprises, in particular SMEs, including traditional manufacturing industries, based on longer term co-operation programmes with a high potential for increasing knowledge-sharing and mutual understanding of the different cultural settings and skill requirements of both the industrial and academic sectors.
The action will be implemented through targeted and flexible support for human resources interactions within co-operation programmes between at least two organisations, one from each sector and from at least two different Member States or Associated countries."
