Young European Arena of Research 2008
The scope includes all aspects of road transport from Geotechnics (e.g. slope stability) to Structures (e.g. bridges), Pavements, Logistics/Planning, Transport Economics, Mechanical Engineering (automotive), Fuels, Tyres, Energy and the Environment. There is even a category for creative ideas where we invite you to let your imagination fly and present us with your vision of where road transport will be in 20, 50 or 100 year's time! All abstracts must fall into one of the following 6 Pillars:
- Energy, Environment & Resources
- Safety & Security
- Transport, Mobility & Infrastructure - Automotive Design & Production
- Infrastructure Design & Production - Future Visions of Road Transport
Fifty finalists will be selected from across Europe and all finalists will receive a strong contribution towards their accommodation and travel expenses to the Transport Research Arena 2008 (TRA) conference in Ljubljana, Slovenia in April. At TRA, student finalists will exhibit their research for 1,500 delegates to see. Gold, Silver and Bronze medals will be awarded in each of the 6 Pillars.
To enter, all you need to do is to log onto the website – http://year.fehrl.org – and upload a 300-500 word abstract, with a few illustrations. That’s it! It could not be easier!
The 22nd February deadline for abstracts is fast approaching, so I urge you to encourage students to apply! A promotional video detailing the competition is available on the website.
Hope to see you in Slovenia!
