IRE Training Session: ‘Innovation policy design, implementation and evaluation’
The aim of the training session, which is organised in collaboration with Fundación Madri+d, is to give participants a comprehensive overview and understanding of the complete innovation policy cycle. While providing concrete knowledge, it will also challenge participants’ views on innovation policy and encourage debate and reflection. Issues to be covered include:
• The mission and practical function of a regional innovation policy;
• The meaning of “innovation” from a company point of view;
• Achieving stronger regional innovation systems through innovation policies;
• How to design and implement useful regional innovation policy measures;
• Monitoring and evaluation of regional innovation policies;
• Globalisation of innovation and design of policy measures for open innovation.
The training session will be given by renowned academics with practical experience in the field as well as by the IRE Secretariat experts. Selected IRE members will contribute with practical illustrations, sharing what they have learned over the years.
The training targets the personnel of regional authorities, regional development agencies, non-governmental organisations and other organisations responsible for designing and implementing regional innovation policies. It is open both to staff from regions where innovation is a relatively new policy topic and regions which have undertaken innovation policy actions in the past but want to update their competences in the field. A maximum of 35 participants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis, giving priority to IRE members.
