Open day to promote Electronic Commerce Awareness

Representatives of chambers of commerce, industrial associations and information and business centres are invited to visit an open day concerning Electronic Commerce Awareness, which will be held in Brussels on 13 January 1999.

Electronic commerce is rapidly changing the way business is conducted around the world, and Europe cannot afford to be left behind. When it comes to competitiveness on a world-wide market, electronic commerce is a key issue for the strategic plans of European businesses.

To increase the awareness of electronic commerce among the European businesses the European Commission in association with Information Society Standardization System has organised this open day to raise interest and help businesses to understand the best practices currently available.

Participants will be encouraged to have a robust exchange of views and to give constructive input to the discussion.
