1st OMEGA Open Event on Home Networking in Rennes
The event is relevant for everybody who is professionally interested in the future of home networking. It addresses particularly experts and decision-makers from network operations, researchers from related projects, representatives from standardisation organizations, and graduate students.
The Open Event consists of two parts: a tutorial part on the first day (5 February), and a workshop part on the second day (6 February). It will focus on four main topics in the home networking context: Radio, Power Line Communication (PLC), Wireless Optics, and Inter-Mac.

The deadline for registrations is 9 January 2009. The number of participants is limited to 80. Registrations will be handled on a 'first come, first serve' basis. Participation in the event is free of charge.

About OMEGA:
OMEGA is a large-scale integrating project (IP) in the ICT area. It will develop a user-friendly home area network capable of delivering high-bandwidth services and content at a transmission speed of one Gigabit per second. The interdisciplinary project consortium consists of 20 European partners from industry and academia and is coordinated by Orange Labs, France Telecom.
OMEGA receives funding by the European Commission under the Seventh Research Framework Programme (FP7). The project is running for three years from January 2008 to December 2010.
