RESTRADE conference on building conservation and regional development

A conference to develop policies on building conservation as a driving force for regional development will be held in Halmstad, Sweden, on 17-19 February 1999. The aim of the conference is for all the participants to agree on a joint statement in the field which will be addressed to the European Commission and national and regional governments.

The RESTRADE conference is open for anyone working within the field of building conservation, labour market policy, tourism, cultural affairs and regional development. It will discuss methods of cooperation and partnership in regenerating an area. The ultimate joint statement would promote and improve the prospects of such partnerships.

The conference will also explore the prospects for partnerships in the future within an enlarged Europe, especially within a climate of new structural funds and changing programmes initiatives.

Speakers from the European Commission, national organisations, universities and existing projects will give presentations.
