YOUNG JOURNALISTS can now apply for RELATE project

REsearch LAbs for TEaching Journalists is an EU-funded project that aims to bridge the gap between science and society.
Some 80 journalism students will have the chance to visit top research centres across Europe dealing with different thematic and then publish their findings.
The project brings scientists face to face with next generation journalists, who will then ‘relate’ their experiences, producing balanced accounts of the benefits and impacts of various scientific fields.
The young journalists will produce articles, audio and video productions aimed at the general public.
They will ‘make sense of science’, while remaining true to principles of good journalism.
In practise, the students will:
1- be sent on a week-long visit with other students from across Europe, all expenses paid (up to 1.000,00 €, depending on location).
2- work as journalists: attending press conferences, interviewing researchers or filming lab work, with a view to producing an article or video.
3- receive valuable advice on pitching their work to newspapers, magazines, TV, radio, etc.
