Will E-Cash and the E-Commerce phenomenon create business opportunities for everyone in Europe, or should small and medium-sized businesses and multinational corporations have very different expectations? This, and the question of Europe's position in the E-commerce market place will be addressed at "Cashing in on the Internet - Electronic Business and the Euro", a conference to be held in Brussels on 4 March 1999.

The round table event will be the second on E-commerce to be organised by Forum Europe, and will be attended by senior representatives from the worlds of business and finance. It is hoped that the conference will provide an opportunity to refine the debate on crucial issues facing industry, consumers, and policy makers, since the introduction of the euro. The issues to be discussed will range from the impact of European Monetary Union on European E-business to the latest regulatory aspects of transactions and E-cash developments on both sides of the Atlantic.

Attendants at the conference will also be able to hear about ways to find their way through the EU's regulatory maze, and to discuss how the euro might affect the E-cash revolution.

The event will be opened by Mario Monti, European Commissioner for the Internal Market and Financial Services.
