"Museo del Corso" opens today, 1 February, in Via del Corso, Rome. The museum is based on the idea and experience of the European project, MOSAIC - "Museums Over States And vIrtual Culture," - and will represent one of the MOSAIC Service Centres able to experiment with the solutions and services proposed by the project for direct contact with the general public.

The "Museo del Corso" is the first virtual exhibition in Italy to exploit the numerous possibilities offered by virtual reality technology in the field of cultural heritage. A visit can be made to the virtual theatre in the polyfunctional area, where it is possible to dive into a number of cultural visits through Rome and its most important historic monuments. It is also possible for the visitor to go back in time and see Ancient Roman sites as well as monuments in their reconstruction in different historical areas.

Starting from the end of April, to coincide with Rome's birthday, there will be an exhibition at Via del Corso using all the functions of the technological infrastructure.
