Concurrent Enterprising 1999 will feature 12 European Union projects
Organised by CE-NET and ESoCE, the event will bring together business and industry leaders, academics, researchers, government officials, and vendors from around the world to share the latest concurrent and virtual enterprising developments. Apart from research, the conference will include state-of-the-art developments in concurrent enterprising tools, technologies and methods, with live process and tool demonstrations, and product exhibitions by suppliers.
The conference will:
- Provide insight into the organisational behaviour of a virtual enterprise in which concurrent engineering practices are the norm;
- Illustrate how business, support and management processes interrelate and how information and communications technology (ICT) enables these processes;
- Show how effective resource management - including human resources, tooling and knowledge management - influences the efficiency of a virtual enterprise;
- Demonstrate an improvement framework that will give insight into managing the new business environment and making the transition from traditional organisation to virtual enterprise;
- Encourage concurrent enterprise practices across industrial sectors;
- Provide a means to enhance collaboration between national and regional R&D activities;
- Identify opportunities for and encourage collaboration between organisations;
- Reinforce the exchange of experiences between academia and industry;
- Learn from the R&D programmes in various industrial sectors;
- Contribute to future R&D activities;
- Network with concurrent enterprising practitioners, developers, researchers and vendors.
