"Educating Europe - Educational Sciences go FP7 and beyond"

An international information and matchmaking event in the field of educational sciences jointly organized by the German SSH NCP the International Cooperation in Education of the German Institute for International Educational Research (DIPF) and NET4SOCIETY in cooperation with the European Commission will be taking place on 30 June / 01 July 2010 in Brussels.

30 June 2010 - 1 July 2010
Belgium
The aim of the conference is to highlight educational research topics within the “Socio-economic sciences and Humanities” (SSH) priority area of the specific programme “Cooperation” of the 7th EU Framework Programme (FP7) related to the “Indicative Research Roadmap” provided by the European Commission and to bring together the respective international scientific community to foster cooperative research in the field of educational sciences.

During the first day of the conference participants will receive first hand information about the policy context, funding opportunities and the forthcoming calls for proposals. A specific foresight session focuses on the societal need in 2020 and beyond and corresponding research topics challenging educational sciences in the near future. Finally, successful coordinators of EU-funded projects in the field of educational sciences will share their experiences and their latest findings.

On the second day participants will have the opportunity to discuss in parallel sessions the topics and challenges focusing on educational sciences of the “Indicative Research Roadmap”. The results of the discussions will be provided to the European Commission as scientific input for the preparation of the forthcoming SSH work programmes.

A matchmaking event according to the topics serving as a basis of discussion for the parallel sessions will afterwards take place to facilitate the setup of FP7 project consortia.
