Marine Micr'Omics for Biotech Applications <br/>- Decoding marine microbes and their amazing functions

Marine biotechnological applications based on bioinformatic tools – this is the topic of a compact workshop held on the PharmaMar premises near Madrid, Spain, 30 & 31 March 2015.

Four sessions and one overall panel discussion will provide insights to challenges and opportunities in the use of Omics and cultivation techniques for biotechnology. Bioinformatics tools as well as legal aspects will be presented by speakers from industry and academia.

2) Environmental biotechnology through marine microbial knowledge (Prof. J. L. Ramos)
3) Bioinformatic tools and methods for innovative blue biotechnology (Dr. R. Kottmann)
4) New strategies for high throughput isolation of novel marine microorganisms (Prof. L. Stal)
5) Panel discussion on bioactives of marine origin: opportunities and challenges (Prof. M. Jaspars)
