The European Commission is organising a one-day workshop to publicize the action line "Strategic analysis of specific political issues" (STRATA) in Brussels on 22 March 1999.

STRATA forms part of the "Improving human potential" programme under the Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration (RTD).

The workshop is intended to bring together potential contributors to the action-line for a discussion of the opportunities available, so as to encourage the development of high-quality proposals. Participants will comprise experts, policy-makers and other stakeholders in science and technology policy in Europe.

The workshop is being openly announced so that every interested individual and organisation will have the opportunity to participate. However, participation will be limited to 80 people, on a first come, first served basis. It will be conducted in English.
