Falling Walls Conference Announces 2010 Speakers in Berlin Germany.

The Berlin Conference to feature future breakthroughs in HIV Therapy, Islamic Studies, Capitalism Planning, Blindness Cure, Sustainable Manufacturing, Pain Relief Policies, Public Art and many other fields.

Falling Walls, the Berlin Conference on Future Breakthroughs in Science and Society, will take place for the second time on the anniversary of the Fall of the Wall on November 7-8, 2010.

The event will feature over 20 world class researchers, presenting their scientific breakthroughs and a perspective on their impact on our lives and will welcome a distinguished international audience of 600 leading professionals from science, economics, culture, and politics.

Among many others, speakers include Christian Wulff, the newly elected president of the Federal Republic of Germany, Doug Guthrie, the Dean of George Washington University’s School of Business and renowned expert on the new communist/capitalist economic landscape, Olafur Eliasson, one of the highest ranked contemporary artists worldwide, Yael Hanein, the physician behind revolutionary technologies curing blindness, Sabine Schmidtke , who is innovating the Islamic Studies with an interreligious perspective, and Eckhard Thiel, who made headlines around the world with his team for curing a 42-year- old American of HIV and is currently exploring new possibilities in AIDS therapy through stem cells.

The conference aims to give a cross-boundary, time efficient, and empowering overview of the latest innovations from outstanding research organisations. Each presentation will last no more than 15 minutes and will cover some of the most diverse study fields like anthropology, arts, chemistry, computer science, communications, education, electronics, economics, energy, engineering, history, innovation, Islamic studies, law, medicine, nanoscience, neuroscience, nutrition, physics, sociology, and technology.

The conference is supported by the Alexander von Humboldt-Foundation, Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Science and the Humanities, Federal Ministry of Education and Research, acatech – German Academy of Science and Engineering, German Academic Exchange Service, Einstein Foundation Berlin, Fraunhofer-Society, Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres, Leibniz Association, Max Planck Society, Stifterverband and numerous universities.
