A call for papers been announced for the Fourth International Symposium on Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering, which will be held in Lisbon between 13 and 16 October 1999.

The meeting is endorsed and sponsored by the European Society of Engineering in Medicine and the Welsh Development Agency (WDA), which have direct links with the European Commission. The meeting delegates are directly involved in Brite-Euram (Fourth Framework Programme) and Engineering & Physical Sciences Research Council projects which are also directly linked to the EU.

The meeting is International and will attract many of the top research institutions from throughout Europe and the world (including Oxford, Stanford and Cardiff). It will be a major event, which will bring together a network of research projects in the EU, such as those for the Fifth Framework Programme for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration.
