The 1999 TII (Technology, Innovation, Information) annual conference at Barcelona, Spain, on 29 and 30 April 1999, comprises two one-day conferences:

- How universities can work successfully with Europe's SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises):
- Entrepreneurship and company spin-offs: a new role for universities in the economic development of their region.

Organized by the European Association for the Transfer of Technologies, Innovation and Industrial information (TII), the event has the support of the Innovation Programme of the European Commission, Directorate-general XIII.

The first day is the culmination of the ENRIL project, funded under DG XIII's European Networks and Services action line and will highlight the project's findings and include testimonies from European SMEs that have worked successfully with universities.
