Food Authenticity focuses on anti-fraud R&D

The Fifth European Symposium, "Food Authenticity", will be held at La Baule, France, between 9 and 11 June 1999, with the backing of the European Commission, Directorate-General XII.
One of the sessions will be devoted to the presentation of European Union (EU) priorities in the area of food fraud and will explore possible research activities for improved analytical tools. Anti-fraud R&D is one objective of the generic activity on Measurement and Testing within the thematic programme "Competitive and Sustainable Growth" of the EU's Fifth Framework Programme (FP5) for Research, Technological Development and Demonstration (RTD). This generic activity is the successor to the Standards, Measurements and Testing Programme (SMT).
