TII Conference Calling EU researchers interested in networking with Russian counterparts in Nizhny Novgorod , Russia

TII - the European Association for the Transfer of Technology and Innovation - is creating a number of opportunities for hands-on networking between EU and Russian researchers at its 2011 conference in Nizhny Novgorod (26-28 May) through a pre-conference visit programme to S&T centres and a poster area during the conference.

26 May 2011 - 28 May 2011
Austria
In 2011, TII departs from the usual beaten track of conference destinations to hold its first ever annual conference in Russia, in the capital of the Volga region, Nizhny Novgorod. It will offer a unique opportunity to discover first-hand some examples of Russian technological genius, to meet and network with like-minded professionals and potential partners as well as to share methods and practice for supporting the innovation process.

Nizhny Novgorod, located 400km northeast of Mosow, is Russia's fourth largest city which boasts a high concentration of S&T organisations and HEIs and is one of the leading centres of the country's IT industry. Numerous software R&D providers are based there, including INTEL, which employs more than 500 engineers at its software R&D centre in the city. TII's pre-conference programme includes visits to 10 S&T centres, including the Nizhny Novgorod State University, Nizhny Novgorod Technical University, the international IT corporation MERA as well as the Nizhegorodskiy Innovation Business Incubator. The profiles of the centres to be visited can be found on the conference website at http://www.tii-conference2011.org/(opens in new window)

The two-day conference on 27-28 May (to be held in English) will feature sessions on EU-Russian S&T collaboration as well as state-of-the-art approaches to research-industry business networking, academic entrepreneurship and innovation management.
