Exploring the potential for Open Innovation in the EU 2020 Strategy - A comprehensive insight into trends and determinants of innovation performance

On 19th May 2011, a consortium led by WIFO in partnership with the European Commission will organise a one-day workshop on “Exploring the potential for Open Innovation in the EU 2020 Strategy - A comprehensive insight into trends and determinants of innovation performance”.

19 May 2011 - 19 May 2011
Austria
The workshop is prepared in the context of PRO INNO Europe, the European Commission's focal point for innovation policy analysis and policy cooperation in Europe.

The speakers will explore the potential for open innovation practices within the context of the EU 2020 Strategy and present a related study. Furthermore, the workshop will cover insights into trends and determinants for open innovation across Europe, both on national and international level. Open innovation offers firms the ability to grow and gain competitive advantage through sharing their risks, resources and expertise. Using a unique approach to empirical analysis, the study aims to discuss new findings, whilst comparing its contribution to European economic performance and its effects on innovation policies.

Participants will have the opportunity to exchange opinions and experiences and to suggest directions for open innovation policy in the future. The workshop is free of charge, but participants are required to register by emailing assistant@greenovate.eu. Event date: Thursday, 19th May 2011
Event time: 09.00 – 12.00
Venue: Rue d’Arlon 63-67, 1040 Brussels, Belgium
