Exploring the potential for Open Innovation in the EU 2020 Strategy - A comprehensive insight into trends and determinants of innovation performance
The speakers will explore the potential for open innovation practices within the context of the EU 2020 Strategy and present a related study. Furthermore, the workshop will cover insights into trends and determinants for open innovation across Europe, both on national and international level. Open innovation offers firms the ability to grow and gain competitive advantage through sharing their risks, resources and expertise. Using a unique approach to empirical analysis, the study aims to discuss new findings, whilst comparing its contribution to European economic performance and its effects on innovation policies.
Participants will have the opportunity to exchange opinions and experiences and to suggest directions for open innovation policy in the future. The workshop is free of charge, but participants are required to register by emailing assistant@greenovate.eu. Event date: Thursday, 19th May 2011

This event is the third of a series of six workshops covering different innovation challenges. It is organised in the framework of the European Commission INNO-Grips project. INNO-Grips is supporting policy makers in adopting appropriate policy responses to emerging innovation needs, trends and phenomena. It analyses framework conditions, barriers and drivers to innovation and innovation policy and offers intelligence on international developments in these field.
