MAITRE project: the professional media training for food researchers

Media training for food researchers: registrations are now open on the MAITRE project website, officially launched: http://maitreproject.eu/(opens in new window)

20 July 2011
Austria
Starting from September 2011, the EU funded (FP7 KBBE Programme) project MAITRE - Media Actions for International Training of Researchers will run 50 training seminars in several EU and associated countries, where journalists and media experts will train a target group of roughly 600 researchers from organisations involved in food science.

MAITRE aims at transferring the special expertise and knowledge of journalists on to researchers, in order to increase the willingness of researchers to interact with the media and to properly communicate scientific information to the public. Training seminars include strategies, interaction and technique modules to help participants to face the challenges of traditional and, especially, online media, the most used communication channel today.

In addition, MAITRE website aims to be the main online collaboration tool for food researchers and science media journalists. One of the new features of the website is the possibility for food researchers to register to seminars and to interact with each others, as well as with science media journalists, through the dedicated online platform that will give them the opportunity to easily find new professional collaborations. In the same way, the registered journalists will have the opportunity to find and get in contact with researchers on the food research topic of their choice.

Are you a food researcher or a food journalist? The MAITRE platform is now open for registrations!
