Science for Society - SiS.net Forum 2011 in Helsinki, Finland

The international network of Science in Society National Contact Points - SiS.net invites all stakeholders interested in the Science in Society Programme (SiS) of FP7 to the SiS.net Forum 2011 at the House of Science and Letters in Helsinki on the 27th of September 2011.

The SiS.net Forum 2011 provides an opportunity for key players and stakeholders from both the public and private sectors to engage in an open dialogue and discuss different aspects of Science for Society and Responsible Research and Innovation Actions in the European Union.

SiS.net Forum 2011 includes the following four sessions:

• Science education (Monday 26th jointly with EUCYS, restricted participation);
• Science communicates: democratisation of science;
• Research and innovation ethics; and
• Inclusiveness: Science inside society.

In addition the SiS.net Forum 2011 will also give an introduction to the Science in Society programme in the EU’s Seventh Framework Programme, FP7, and the contents of the new FP7 SiS 2012 Call for proposals, launched on the 20th July 2011.

The SiS.net Forum 2011 is arranged in conjunction with the European Union Contest for Young Scientists 2011 (EUCYS) which will take place in Helsinki on 23-28 September.
