Turkey’s economy remains buoyant with R&D performance increasing year on year. The gross expenditure on R&D in Turkey saw an annual growth of 12% in 2010, with almost 82,000 (FTE) personnel engaged in R&D of which nearly 50% are employed in the private sector. Between 2007 and 2010 Turkey benefitted from over €100m of FP7 funding. Attending this event will provide access to this growing expertise;

• Network with over 300 researchers and companies
• Discover how to get involved with Framework Programmes
• Take part in one-to-one partnering meetings that can be arranged beforehand
• Meet potential partners and coordinators in bilateral meetings
• Gain a clearer understanding of call requirements from European Commission officials
• Explore collaboration and funding opportunities
• Showcase your own project
• Build consortia and planning teams for your research proposals
• Learn more from Framework Programme experts
• Exchange best practice with other research participants

What will be happening?
To conduct research, European Commission Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) projects require complementary cross-disciplinary capabilities to achieve breakthroughs that cannot be delivered by a single research group. The 2012 International Brokerage Event in Key Enabling Technologies will bring together research organisations and companies with the desire and capability to help overcome a wide range of challenges. Researchers and experts from diverse disciplines from countries across Europe will be attending, and you are invited to join them.

As well as networking opportunities, you will hear presentations by the European Commission and FP7 experts on upcoming calls. Researchers will be presenting their concepts for future proposals - anyone can present ideas for projects and discuss them with potential partners, give feedback and support and supplement each other’s ideas.

Who would benefit by attending?
Researchers and key players from the targeted sectors who have novel concepts and capabilities, which can have significant societal, environmental and economic impact.
