The organisers of the first Virtual Reality World Congress, taking place in Brussels from 5 to 7 July 1999, promise their visitors intellectual stimulation, demonstrations and visions of the future.

The aim of this meeting is to accelerate the commercial adoption of interactive, three-dimensional (I3D) sensory enhanced and virtual reality-based systems. By bringing together key participants in the I3D/VR community to:

- Experience a good commercial return on their investment of time;
- Provide networking opportunities to plan future actions for VR.

The first VR World Congress is sponsored by the European Union's Telematics Applications programme, through the support actions IESERV2 and CONCORD.
