SiS Catalyst Second PPI Conference in Zagreb, Croatia.

The pace of change is accelerating and the mission of SiS Catalyst is to turn such ideas into reality through the mobilisation of our mutual learning and the identification of the cultural change that we need to embrace. SiS Catalyst specifically focuses on how we include children in the dialogue between society and the academic communities.
Understanding the role of children as agents for change requires thinking differently and converting this into action. During the conference we will be launching the SiS Catalyst Practical Guidelines. This living documentation reflects how Children’s University type activities can be targeted at young people currently unlikely to progress to university. It honestly explores case studies, pilots, successes and failures, and examines different models at institutional, regional and national levels. It includes reflections from the variety of actors and intermediaries, and explores issues of the ethics of this work as well as measuring the impact.
We are the custodians of our children´s future but how are they included in our institutional learning? This conference will be an opportunity for the curious to explore the vision of SiS Catalyst and to see how it relates to their own.
This conference will start on the evening of Monday 25th of June and finish at lunchtime on Wednesday the 27th of June 2012.
