ENGAGE project to coordinate the Samos Summit in Samos, Greece

The ENGAGE project will coordinate a plenary session and a series of collaborative workshops on Open Data on July 3, 2012 during the Samos Summit on “Open Data and Interoperability for Governance, Industry and Society”. The Samos Summit will be held on July, 2-4 , on the island of Samos, Greece.

The ENGAGE project is funded by the 7FP to support research e-Infrastructure with a goal to release a services infrastructure allowing researchers, citizens and other stakeholders to have better access to public open data.
The ENGAGE Project will open the Samos Summit, followed by three 90-minute parallel workshops, covering a number of topics: Workshop 1 WS I: Open Data Requirement coordinated by Mrs. Anneke Zuiderwijk, from the Technical University of Delft, WS II: The ENGAGE Open Data Prototype coordinated by Dr. Harris Tsavdaris, National Technical University Athens and WS III: New visions and ideas for Open Data and Governance coordinated by Dr. Elias Kalapanidas, INTRASOFT International SA.

The Summit will bring together an impressive number of stakeholders and public officials, representing research projects, government and civil society bodies and special interest groups. The Summit aims to foster international cooperation by working on a new research and practice agenda on Open Data and Interoperability for Governance, Industry and Society. It is co-organised by ENGAGE eInfrastructures project, the ENSEMBLE FP7 project (a support action to the FINES Cluster), PADGETS FP7 Project and NOMAD FP7 project.
