Course on Optimization and Decision Support Systems for Supply Chains (Odss.SC-2013) in Portalegre, Portugal

The school aims at the modeling and optimization of a network of production-distribution facilities, considering the material and financial fluxes in a multi-echelon framework, and also addressing the “green” logistics approach to supply chains (SC). The lecturers are presenting large and complementary expertise, and since they are coming from different European countries (Italy, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom), the working language is English.
The sessions follow a pull strategy, beginning with the distribution/sales/customer subjects, and ending with the selection of suppliers. In-between, both the planning/scheduling of the production processes and the supporting systems usually found in manufacturing, petrochemical, and pharmaceutics SC are addressed. The reverse logistics is also treated, technical visits to industry-based SC are foreseen, and the computational sessions are supported by IBM/ILOG.
