Current generations of students are already changing the paradigms of learning and teaching. Imagine what today’s children are going to do? How will their use of technology influence their own individual learning journeys and their progression to higher education? And how will this change the institutions of higher education already in anticipation of new generations of students?
This conference is going to explore the impact of new technologies to children and the potential of new technologies for the communication of science, arts and humanities, outreaching non-traditional target groups and highlighting educational opportunities.
Key subject of the event is the question of how the use of ICT is changing the paradigms of learning and teaching science, arts and humanities in the Higher Education context. This ongoing topic will be explored in face of current and future generations of students and recipients – those who have naturally grown up with the use of online content, interactive applications and mobile devices.
The conference especially focuses on organizations that are engaged in awareness raising programs, outreach activities and science communication for children and young people in general. How have changing conditions already shaped these educational institutions, and will keep altering them – notably universities, science organisations, science museums etc? How is this effecting their strategic development and the governance of such SiS for children programs? And what is required to successfully create programs which resonate with this cultural swift?
The Conference will provide abundant room to discuss these issues in keynote talks and workshop sessions.
