Italy encourages respect for rivers

Fondazione Ferrero is organising a conference entitled 'Rivermed' that will consider strategies to prevent pollution spoiling Europe's rivers. The event, scheduled to take place in Alba, Italy, on 6 November 1999, is supported by the European Commission's Environment Directorate-General.

To complement the event, the organisers have prepared a CD-ROM for schools, adults and local administrations that provides an interactive way to discover how to deal with river pollution in a 'learn as you play' setting.
