“Science, Innovation and Society: achieving Responsible Research and Innovation”

SIS-RRI Conference
Rome, 19-21 November

19 November 2014 - 21 November 2014
Italy
SIS-RRI is an International event representing a unique opportunity for setting an agenda to promote a true cross- fertilization between science and society, in particular its capacity to connect talents and ideas.
This can be achieved through a fruitful and rich dialogue and close cooperation between science and society stakeholders.
In this context, ‘Science with and for Society’ is intended to further develop, disseminate and support good Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) best practices across Europe.
In a nutshell, RRI is a package aiming to better engage society in research and innovation activities throughout the 6 following key areas:

o PUBLIC ENGAGEMENT
o GENDER EQUALITY
o SCIENCE EDUCATION
o ETHICS
o OPEN SCIENCE
o GOVERNANCE

Join hundreds of participants from all over the world and attend many events such as:
-The Art&Innovation Exhibition will be opened in the first day of the Conference and will run, open to the public at large, for two weeks.
The exhibition will explore the interplay between Science, Art and Society.
-A Networking Event will be held with the objective of encouraging previous and future clients/applicants to participate by providing information about the possibilities existing under the new Horizon 2020 Work Programme 2014-2015 for Science with and for Society, and sharing project ideas and finding appropriate partners.
-A Market place for projects will be set up, in which project activities, results and best practices will be displayed in order to give projects added visibility.

The involvement of high-level speakers, the overall cultural dimension of the Conference and its prestigious location in Rome’s Parco della Musica (Auditorium) are means towards the end of having key stakeholders take part in the upcoming Science with and for Society Programme of the European Commission.
The Conference will be organised under the auspices of the Italian EU Presidency, and will take place in Rome from 19th to 21st of November 2014.

The participation is free
