1st European Course on Next Generation Carbon Fibres Processing

The Consortium of the FP7 Project NEWSPEC (www.newspec.eu) cordially invites professionals, researchers and students to participate to the 1st European Course on Next Generation Carbon Fibres Processing.
The Summerschool - with the scientific direction of the FORTH - ICE-HT institute and organised in collaboration with Warrant Group Srl and Freni Brembo SpA - will be held in Patras, Greece, on 14 to 18 June 2015, with keynote presentations, poster session, visit to FORTH and optional social events.
Leading academics, researchers, professionals and postgraduate students will gather at the event to discuss novel Carbon Fibres manufacturing processes.
The course will focusing on the theme of production of Carbon Fibre using novel cost-effective and environmental-friendly techniques, with the aim to improve the traditional production line. Specific topics addressed will be:
- Conventional Carbon Fibre production - Proposed new CF processing lines
- Selection of sustainable precursors for the next generation CFs
- Nanomaterial-based modification of new precursors
- Existing and novel CF functionalization procedures
- In-line and post-production characterization of CFs.
